Heart Shield VFX Effect
Heart Shield VFX Effect
For this VFX effect, it was to create another shield out of Hearts inside of Unity. I began my process by using Photoshop to construct the materials that would help build upon this effect. I then started to think about how to go about making this effect that would be interesting for the player. By messing with the particle effect settings, I was able to layer the effect to transition from one sequence to another. I then wanted to use a 3D model Heart that would be above the player spurting out more hearts while the central shield rotated around the player.
I went into Maya to construct the 3D model by manipulating the box geometry, shaped the heart model to how I wanted it to look, unwrapped the heart, and then I exported the model as an FBX file into Unity. I colored the heart inside of Unity and upped the emission values to give it an exciting look. Below is the image of the heart model, materials, and codes used to summon and allow the VFX effect to work.
